There will be a number of vendors, as was the case last year, where you can visit and learn about the latest technology within our industry.
There will be an auction for ACPAC Thursday evening. We ask everyone attending to bring an item for this event, it can be liquor, wine, sports tickets, baskets, anything that will help us raise money for our political action fund in what appears to be a challenging year for the collection industry. We will have a professional auctioneer and this is always a fun event.

Thank you for supporting your unit. Each unit needs your attendance and participation in order to be effective. If you have not asked to be a part of your unit's leadership, please attend the meetings and let your unit president know of your desire to become involved. We hope you plan to attend and arrive early enough for the Wednesday night social event which proves to be a great opening to this big meeting. This even which we have worked out with the local Chamber of Commerce will be a highlight of the meeting and will be talked about years!
The Great Smoky Mountain National Park and Gatlinburg are located less than an hour from the convention site, please to spend a great early summer weekend holiday before you head back. This park is the most visited Natioanal Park in the country. If you have never been, you will enjoy this opportunity.
Registration for this meeting is $ 99. Hotel reservations at $ 199 per night for a single (this is a CMP rate which covers all your meals at the meeting, breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and $ 299 per night for a double (two people attending the conference). Please remember, this includes ALL of your meals while you are at the meeting. The is little or no cost to your unit for this meeting when we use the CMP rate for attendees; thereby, keeping your unit dues low.
Knoxville is about 45 minutes South of Kingsport for those flying into the area. There is also air service to the Tri Cities airport only a few miles away. Additional cost for golf, etc. are on the registration form, this year we are letting each person pay for their own golf, cart, etc. You will find the cost more than reasonable and the course is at the hotel. Your room will have a view of the golf course.
Plans are incomplete at this time but we hope to have Valerie Hayes from ACA teaching a seminar on FCRA along with John Bedard and some other MAP attorneys who will be in attendance. We will also have an update on the CFPA from Val and others, including the Virginia President, Fran Fisher who is actively involved on the legislative committee. You will not want to miss these updates, there are many changes taking place on the horizon for our industry. HIPAA changes, recent rulings concerning calls, state legislative issues, will all be presented during our three day meeting. Several state lobbyist will be in attendance to help us sort through some of the changes on the state level. Martin Sher will bring an ACA update. You will be a part of your annual unit meeting and elect new officers for the coming year.
